The Casdagli Cypher3311 Colossus Cigar Review – It’s one mighty stick

Friday 24th April 2026 was a lovely sunny day down here on the south coast and it was the perfect day to visit Havana House Southampton to pick up a few new cigars to try.

Konrad was behind the counter, and was his enthusiastic self, eager to share his knowledge and upsell to me. This works 100% of the time.

There were a few cigars I hadn’t tried before one of which, the Casdagli Cypher3311 Colossus, was hidden from view. I got the impression this was to make sure they didn’t sell out too fast.

The Cypher3311 was hidden in a box at the bottom of the humidor undar a number of other cigar boxes.

In addition to the Cypher I also bought an El Rey Del Mundo  – translating to “King of the World” – Choix Supreme Cigar, a Kristoff Maduro Robusto, and a Daughters of the Wind Pony Express Cigar.

All new to me, so more reviews to follow.

Where to smoke

The 24th of April is always a bit of a tough day for me because it’s the anniversary of my dad’s death. But the sun was out and a cigar in the sun with a beer is a great way to reflect and think about the good times.

My wife and I went down to Oxford Street in Southampton and sat outside a bar with a beer and had a great time.

The Casdagli Cypher3311 Colossus is a beast of a cigar.  It’s 6 inches in length and has a 60 ring gauge.

The cigar is well constructed with an attractive light Ecuadorian wrapper. It has a Costa Rican binder, and fillers from Peru and the Dominican Republic.

The roll isn’t too tight so the draw is easy which makes for an easy light and smoke.

Flavour Profile

The cigar was quite creamy and smooth with quite clear almond notes. I also let my wife try it and she said it wasn’t too farmy – which is a great compliment as she’s not a fan of cigars that taste too much like a farmyard (her description, not mine).

She also highlighted the almond sweetness and noted some cocoa.

Burning and conditions

Whilst the sun was glorious there was a fair bit of wind whilst I smoked and this caused the cigar to burn a little unevenly.

This didn’t affect how the cigar tasted and at no point did it taste bad, however the wrapper struggled to contain the cigar at the end of the smoke.

One thing I’ve noticed in the past with 60 ring gage cigars is that the outer wrapper can almost seem like it isn’t strong enough to contain the cigar. I’m not sure if this is often the case or if I have just been a little unlucky but it has meant that the final inch or so of the smoke has been a bit of a struggle.

Cyper3311 Colossus Rating

(8.5/10)

Overall I really enjoyed this smoke. It was smooth and effortless and just right for the day. I’d score it an 8.5/10 and would certainly have another one.
