Born out of frustration and a passion for great cigars, cigarsnearme.co.uk came to mind after one too many school boy errors.
Not for the first time, I found myself on a sunny Sunday afternoon in the mood for a cigar. Only to go to my trusty humidor and find that I had left it empty. Rooky mistake!
Living in Hampshire there are some great local cigar shops but not all of them are open on a Sunday. So, I wanted to know which were open and where was my nearest cigar shop was – simple, you would think.
Turns out the available information wasn’t as good as it could be and a number of places, some shops, pubs, hotels and the like, don’t always advertise that they do in fact sell cigars.
As such Cigars Near Me came to be. We aim to be the home of the fullest and most up to date information on cigar shops, tobacconists, pubs and hotels where you can buy a great smoke.
Our home page search bar has an “open now” button that will filter which shops or hotels are open now so you can find your nearest open venue.
About Me
Hi, I’m Sam, and I’m in my mid-40s. I’ve been smoking cigars since my early 20s, and they’ve always carried a personal connection for me—reminding me of my dad, who I lost when I was 17.
He used to smoke Hamlet and Café Crème cigars (now rebranded as Signature), and there were always stacks of empty tins in the car or around the house.
On special occasions he would smoke bigger cigars (what I would think of as “proper cigars”) but mainly he stuck to his Café Crème cigars.
These days, I tend to favour New World cigars, although I enjoy Cubans as well. I’m always keen to try something new, while still returning to a few trusted favourites.

I find cigars are a lot like wine—the price doesn’t necessarily dictate how much you’ll enjoy them, even if it can be an indicator of quality.
My knowledge of cigars is still growing, as are my taste buds.
I know I’ve got a long way to go, but building this site gives me the chance to learn more and connect with fellow cigar enthusiasts.
